NEIMUN CONFERENCE 2023 is a youth leadership conference organised by the NEIMUN Foundation and one of the first and premier Model United Nations in North East India. Anchored in the principles of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace, and Security, the conference aims to address critical issues affecting the region, including drugs, small arms trade, poverty and conflict arising from the climate crisis. NEIMUN through this youth leadership conference hopes to create a platform for meaningful dialogue, skill enhancement, networking opportunities, and a life changing journey that equips youths of the region to lead actions in their communities and beyond.
WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN NEIMUN 2023?
MODEL UNITED NATIONS Model United Nations, an academic simulation of the United Nations, is an extracurricular activity where students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real world issues by simulating UN committees. It involves substantial researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, as well as critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities. At the NEIMUN conference, delegates are trained by some of the best in the field, imparting knowledge and skills required for students to become leaders in their communities and globally. UN4MUN
It is a program introduced by the United Nations Department of Global Communications in 2009 with an intention to bring Model UN simulations closer to how the real UN functions. NEIMUN is proud to be one of the premier MUN conferences in South Asia which follow the UN4MUN(United Nations for Model United Nations) Rules of Procedure.
