“It is exhilarating to say that I am three years old with NEIMUN. What is so special about N-E-I-M-U-N? NEIMUN has been uplifting countless lives since its inception and my life has equally been hit with its influence. My journey with NEIMUN started at a very different level of communion. I was recruited to be a member of the International Press Team for NEIMUN 2013. Being at the forefront of managing the event with the team, NEIMUN did offer me an array of wholesome platter. It was fulfilling when we saw how things worked when we were together and how we worked together when things did not work. It polished and offered me values of team work, public relations, event management, leadership qualities, building friendship amongst people from different places and walks of life and I was polished at a conscious and sub-conscious state. I found my pen in NEIMUN. My journey to professional writing was welcomed after this experience. My resume always looks prettier with my ‘NEIMUN experience’ and it has boosted ways for my ventures.
On a cold December evening, the first day of the much anticipated NEIMUN conference concluded successfully. The International Press team, The Secretariat, organizing committee and the trainers gathered together for a tasty dinner. Forgetting about the food, I was busy with my team because we had to give birth to a history. Our first newsletter of NEIMUN had to be a perfect! We sacrificed every fiber of our musing mind to fetch a name for the baby. Whilst everyone was lost in the process, I felt a reflection of the place we were in. We were in the hills of Kohima. Our heartbeats were impulsive; we were in a soaring time. I popped out, “Why not Pinnacle Times?” Someone said, “Please explain your inspiration?” I explained “Pinnacle Times is the most befitting name for our first publication because our time reflects a period which is in the highest stage of development and we will usher the voice and color of our time. Yes, from the highest level of dissemination.”
NEIMUN is a confluence. It is a ‘coming together’ of people and a place where people with an edge merge and flow together. As I look back, I have memories and experiences and I have achieved growth and transformation into a powerful person of my own making…because I chose NEIMUN.”
