"From attending NEIMUN 2013 as a delegate for the first time, to being a part of the Secretariat member in 2014 and as Head of Operations in 2015, the journey has been life changing. The best gift from NEIMUN is the opportunity it has given me to really reassess myself. NEIMUN has also given me the space to develop self-confidence; to learn the practicalities of diplomacy and consensus building; and the importance of pushing oneself. Every single day, there is a new opportunity to think and to create.

Through NEIMUN, I have met so many wonderful people who inspire and motivate and from whom I learn the values of youth leadership, collective workmanship and most importantly, humility. One memorable experience with NEIMUN was being elected as the President of the General Assembly in the first session. The amount of pushing I had to do before deciding to contest for the election was immense. I was literally scared to death but felt that I needed to try. To this day, I remember only a single line from the short two minutes campaign speech.

I take so much pride in being a part of something greater than myself. It is an honor to hear stories of young people, like myself, whose lives have been touched by NEIMUN and who have embarked on a new journey, a journey made possible through the platform provided by NEIMUN. I believe NEIMUN goes beyond teaching leadership skills or diplomacy. This dream had set in a powerful chain of events where young people are discovering themselves and their voices. This discovery and realization is important for our generation, because this generation- cutting across all races, religions, languages, ethnicities and nationalities, is our hope for what is and all that is to come."
