HOW TO APPLY FOR INTERNATIONAL PRESS TEAM 2016
|
Designation: International Press Team Reporter
Dates: October 22nd – 24th 2016
Location: Dimapur, Nagaland
The International Press Delegation allows its participants to act as unbiased journalists who report on the proceedings of each simulation in the conference. The team will investigate committee debates, conduct interviews, edit articles, and cover press conferences during the conference. Your work will be published in the daily newsletter of the NEIMUN conference, The Pinnacle Times, which is read by all NEIMUN participants and has a wide online readership across the globe.
At the Conference, reporters act as both passive and active participants in NEIMUN’s simulations. Reporters are required to carefully observe the simulations as they unfold in their assigned committees and disseminate unbiased and well-articulated information regarding the proceedings of the day’s events to all the participants of the NEIMUN conference. In doing so, reporters are responsible for conducting their own background research, whether be it gathering basic information on relevant topics or conducting interviews whenever required. Articles written by reporters are then published in The Pinnacle Times.
Prior to the conference, you will be assigned to a “beat” – one or two committees on which you will have the primary responsibility to report on throughout the Conference. A list of all committees and the topics that are to be discussed during the NEIMUN conference can be accessed from the NEIMUN website.
