The UN is one big family and even though NEIMUN is but a simulation of it, along with other fellow MUN organisations, we give essence to being the future hope of the UN and we are already part of this family. I would encourage all to be critical but be constructive, be supportive and help us, NEIMUN to strengthen and improve it. I welcome you to be a part of this prestigious conference. “It is a privilege for me to take this challenge yet again as I did last year. I find the United Nations fascinating especially because of its multidisciplinary facet giving everyone interested a platform to contribute to both international and local progress. Similarly, Model UN provides the adjacent platform to delegates to educate themselves in the workings of the UN, meanwhile training them in diplomatic etiquette giving them the confidence and boost to participate in the political, social exercise considered beyond reach at a young age. I am confident that many of the delegates participating in NEIMUN 2014 will go on to become leaders and global citizens. Last December, during the NEIMUN 2013 conference, it was a joy and thrill to see intellectual curiosity and humane concern spark up in the eyes of the young delegates as they discussed and debated real issues and consequences. This year too, with each country revealing its own story told or untold, I, with the team, look forward to giving you an enriching conference and meeting all of you. Bigger, better, more diverse? Let’s do this!”
