The first time I heard about MUNs and all its conferences was when the Director of NEIMUN gave an inspirational talk in the 'ivalley talk' held in Imphal. I instantly fell in love with it and applied for it. Luckily I got selected and got the chance to have my own dose of the MUN fever. I was a bit doubtful with myself when I saw the enormously huge hall, but as the day started, my confidence level slowly boosted up with all the motivational words of the great personalities and trainers.
Many things have I learnt from the conference, for instance, enlightening myself with the UN and their efforts in making or trying to make this planet a beautiful place, I must say I was truly inspired.
Speaking on stage was what I always loved but NEIMUN refined me into an orator.
The art of listening to people more and soaking in others point of view!
Meeting new friends was one of the best things.
In between those serious discussions, fun and sweet moments did occur. I had my own share of game with different languages. Few of them were shocked when I spoke in Hindi! I was also made to say "I love you" to one of the Secretariat member in Khasi! I laughed hysterically with my newfound besties (still in touch) and later discussing whether real ambassadors laugh like us! And of course how can I forget our "Mr. Good News", to see him coming in the room with the news of tea or lunch break when we were hungry was the best moment ;) and then again our "Mr. Saviour" who helped us get to the hall in time.....oh the stories go on and on!
Lastly, I would like to thank each and every member of NEIMUN for giving us such a wonderful experience, all the very best and best wishes, looking forward to more exciting and life changing conferences in future.
