MESSAGE FROM THE SECRETARY GENERAL OF NEIMUN 2016
Dear Delegates, Faculty Advisors, and well-wishers, It is my pleasure to invite you to the fourth session of the North East India International Model United Nations India, to be held in Dimapur, Nagaland from Friday, October 22 to Monday, October 24, 2016. Over the past three years, NEIMUN has witnessed the participation of over 2000+ students representing some of the best schools and colleges from many states of the country and also abroad. In partnership with United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan, NEIMUN is the first and premier MUN conference in India’s North-east, and is one of the largest conference in the region. We will bring the conference to life through six dynamic committees, an exceptional array of Trainers from Best Delegate, a Model UN company based in United States of America, speakers from across the country and the beloved tradition of vibrant social events. NEIMUN follows the UN4MUN Rules of Procedures introduced by the UN Department of Public Information. NEIMUN is a platform which the young minds to discuss ideas for the better change of the society. NEIMUN platforms motivated and talented students from all corners of the world and provide a forum for meaningful debate on issues significant to the international community. Committed to the core educational mission of North East India International Model United Nations, we hope that NEIMUN will be an opportunity for your students to gain insight into the art of diplomacy, understand the value of collaboration and compromise, and build skills in public speaking, research, and debate. Above all, we hope that NEIMUN will challenge and inspire delegates to take the lessons learned at conference beyond the committee room, continuing to grapple with the complex issues in the world today and work towards change. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development’ and we are committed to delivering a truly meaningful and inspiring experience for the fourth time in Nagaland this year.
