Meet the NEIMUN 2017 Secretariat

Dennis Hrangchal

Dennis Lallienzuol is a recent post graduate in Sociology at Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi and currently working with Difficult Dialogues, a forum for examining issues of contemporary relevance in South Asia.
Dennis is not new in the NEIMUN circuit as he has been involved since its inception in 2013 at different capacities from being a delegate to a former secretariat member. Besides, he is also well known for his activism at the grassroots with human rights, climate change and gender issues with different social and non-governmental organisations in North East India. He is involved on youth advocacy as a member to the Major Group on Children and Youth, United Nations. In the MUN circuit, Dennis is instrumental in the formation of the Young Learners’ School MUN Club, Manipur and St. Edmund’s College MUN Club, Shillong.
For his dedicated service towards youth volunteering, Dennis  was conferred the prestigious National Service Scheme Award for Meghalaya State in 2015 by the North Eastern Hill University, Shillong. He is also the Diplomacy Award holder.
Besides his work, Dennis loves travelling and exploring, writing poems and, finds passion in cooking at his leisure time.
He states, “My work is very simple and straightforward here: building a realistic sustainable solutions using practical tools to our region by empowering and engaging our young boys and girls at every steps and decisions for ushering change so that the tagline of change is not just a dream but to act upon it”. “This year, I look forward to engaging youths to be the weapons of peace and resilience at every steps and spaces. As a celebration of its 5th year, NEIMUN will be focussing on youth power and strength through diversity and dynamic dialogues in every possible way”.

Imlimenla Longchar

Imlimenla Longchar is currently a graduate student  at the School of Public Policy and Governance ,Tata Institute of Social Sciences Hyderabad. At College she was a Student Diplomat and Student Director of the MUN Club. She also served as the Deputy Director General of St. Edmund’s College Model United Nations Conference 2016, the first conference of its kind to be organized by an educational institution in the state of Meghalaya. She was also one of the Animators in the College festival “Edblazon 2016”. She has worked as the General Secretary of Ao Students Union Shillong, which is the apex student organization of the Ao- Naga Students in Shillong.
She is passionate about working for the people and enjoys being busy. Since High School she was actively involved from being elected as the Vice President of the School and being a member of the Students Council at Higher Secondary School. Imlimenla has also been a part of the organizing committee in school programmes and was actively involved in essay competitions, choral and sports competitions.
She has been associated now with NEIMUN for the fourth year. She is a diplomacy Award and a Best Delegate Award holder and has been a part of the NEIMUN Secretariat for the last two years.
Imlimenla has a deep love for the people of North East and an unyielding faith on the potential of the youth society, this believe in her has pushed her to help, engage, learn and teach the people in every way she can. “NEIMUN have always worked for young people by providing the platform to meet, engage and mould oneself. This year’s theme has been decided with the hope that every discussions within are related to the reality and a hope that this learning process will bring the brave self in every individual. “

A pluviophile, Imlimenla enjoys warm coffee at the corner of cafes that has good interiors. She is a person of few words who loves working and being busy.

Barun Brahmachari

​Barun is a final year undergraduate student pursuing Accountancy as his honours from KC Das Commerce college Guwahati, Assam. He is a very jovial person who believes in spreading happiness.

A straightforward and vocal person, Barun has a clearly articulated position on societal matters. A veteran in the event management field,Barun has been part of many successful events and he thinks that every event is a team sport where the cumulative efforts of all individuals go a long way in making any event successful.

This is his fourth year with NEIMUN and his most recent association being the Deputy for Political Affairs at NEIMUN 2016 l. He considers NEIMUN as an extended family and is ever ready to put in all efforts. He is a social person and can always be found among people,talking and listening to different viewpoints. When not working he can be found watching TVF webisodes and youtube videos. He also believes in posting numerous Instagram stories in a single day.

Roasenla Ozukum

"A fresh face to NEIMUN, Roasenla Ozukum recently began working full time with the Department of Horticulture in Nagaland after completing her B.Sc Hons. (Horticulture) from Dr. YSPUH&F Himachal Pradesh. Having studied in one of the world''s premier International schools, The International School of Bangalore, she was the recipient of Silver award from International Award for Young People and holds a Grade 3 certificate in Trinity Speech and Drama.
Although her only MUN experience was the 2009 DAIMUN, she had lead numerous cultural and social events and this year, she is ex
cited to help NEIMUN turn into another rewarding and memorable experience for young leaders. Her roaring zeal to help the younger generation, broaden their minds and help them understand the value of thinking globally rather than locally is what sets her apart. She adds "My first MUN experience 10 years ago impacted my life so much because it made me realise that if a person is given such opportunities at a young age, then the world can have better global citizens. Hence, here I am today with NEIMUN to create a ripple of such impact."

Kethosinuo Tepa

Kethosinuo Tepa, originally from Kohima, she is currently pursuing her Bachelors of Arts Degree with Honors in English Literature from University of Delhi. She is also involved in the North East Union in her college. Outside college, she volunteers as a tutor for kids in the slum for an organization called Sankalp. After her 12th examination, she got the opportunity to intern at Youthnet. She not only got the chance to work in a professional environment and learn about team work but also got the opportunity to interact with young students and youths first hand. During this time she realized that she greatly enjoy engaging with young people and providing them with assistance.
"Since attending my first NEIMUN workshop 3 years ago, I have grown to love the intensity and professionalism of NEIMUN and appreciate the transformative power of MUN to alter perspectives, generate passion and create long-lasting friendships. As a result, NEIMUN has become a conference I hold dear to my heart." When not devoutly subscribing herself to the happenings of the world, she can be found reading books, appreciating other cultures and cuisines, listening to the 80's and 90's music or catching a power nap. She is also a self-diagnosed insomniac, working both late at night and early in the morning on college work and other pursuits. She looks forward to a wonderful NEIMUN 2017 and hope that it will be an unforgettable experience for all.

Yami Landi


Yami Landi is a Research Scholar at Rajiv Gandhi University, Doimukh in the department of Mass Communication. She has been part of NEIMUN for the past two years and is thrilled to lead the International Press Team 2017. Yami is originally from Ziro- one of the quaint oldest towns in Arunachal Pradesh.
Her career aspirations consist of becoming a capable Professor and contribute to the society in the best possible way. When not working with NEIMUN, Yami enjoys exploring new places, spend time with her pet dog. She is a passionate follower GoT and thus enjoys binge watching it in her leisure time. NEIMUN for her is an ideal approach to come together and competently transform into a virtuous self.

Dorothy Chasie


"Dzüvinguno Dorothy Chasie recently completed her Master's Degree in English Literature  from Nagaland University, Meriema. Currently working as a content-writer at 'Listed', an online directory for Nagaland-based businesses, she still holds hopes of continuing her education. Her other interests include performing Spoken Word Poetry with 'The Four Felons', making small crafts, and reading all kinds of books! A graduate from St. Joseph' College, Jakhama. During her Undergraduate, she was the President of the College Women’s Forum. She also Completed A Study of Women’s Civic Leadership at the United States Institute, University of Kansas in Lawrence (USA).
She believes that NEIMUN is *the* place for young people to learn about pressing global issues, as well as in opening boundaries; mentally and geographically, and at the same time making friends and connections for life."

Misso Anu


​Misso Anu has a  Master's degree and Masters of Philosophy in History from Rajiv Gandhi University. She graduated from Madras Christian college, where she was first introduced to the concept of Model United Nations. in 2015, She joined NEIMUN as an ambassador for the state of Arunachal Pradesh. The conference was definitely a turning point , where she decided to be "the change". This change could be a Very tiny contribution for the world to live in and not just survive. She believes that peace and harmony emanates from good education and social values. Therefore it is necessary for the younger generation to learn not just rocket science but moral science too.

Zubeni N Ngullie

She has done Masters in political science and sociology and recently completed B.Ed , She is currently pursuing Diploma in computer application and networking.  Her NEIMUN journey started in 2016 and recieved a Diplomacy Award Since then, NEIMUN has molded her perception of the world, and believes in being the change. Before NEIMUN, she says she barely understood how the UN worked. Because of NEIMUN, She now deeply understands how the UN function and the role of young people for a better world. Aside from MUN, She possesses a passion for teaching and plan to open a school for the disabled one day. She also loves playing the piano.She feels truly honored to be part of NEIMUN secretariat team.

Satabdi Dowarah


Satabdi Dowarah is a student at Cotton University, Guwahati pursuing Bachelor of Arts with Economics Honors. She got NEIMUN-ed in 2015 and she has been deeply compassionate about MUNs ever since. Passionate and energetic about her work, she is a dedicated team player with managerial skills and has served as the Head Girl of Gurukul Grammar Senior Secondary School and a core member of the Junior Red Cross unit of Holy Child School. Being a huge animal lover and giving shelter to 7 handicapped animals as pets, she plans on opening a well-functioning animal shelter in the city soon. Considering the foodie that she is, most call her the human version of Zomato. Moreover, she also has an affinity towards sports and has won several intra-school sports competitions. She is thrilled to be a part of a team that is dedicated to bring about impeccable changes in young adults and pushes them to be their best versions. She is hopeful that this year’s Secretariat will put up a good show and make NEIMUN 2017 a memorable one for all!

Rovino Livi

Rovino Livi is a fifth semester college student at Women's College Shillong, majoring in English. She was born and brought up from Kohima and is currently based in Shillong for her studies. She did her schooling from Dainty Buds School and attended Northfield Khikha for her senior secondary.
Her NEIMUN journey started in 2014 as a senior secondary student from Northfield, Khikha. Rovino in her words, “Growing up shy, it left me an uncomfortable quietness in the new environment. But the very three days conference changed me entirely into a different person. I was going all over the conference hall discussing world politics with people I never met”. She also volunteered at the first Kohima MUN in 2015.
She has never been actively part of talks, discussions and any co- curricular activities, apart from anything related to music and painting. But ever since her journey with NEIMUN started, she has been actively participating in many talks and discussions.
NEIMUN, had been a platform which brought the shy girl to the forefront. She not only expresses herself through her speech but also through her writings. If NEIMUN was successful in inspiring her, then it can also bring to the fore many people like, whose voices are yet to be heard.
When she isn’t busy with college assignments and presentations, Rovino enjoys reading a good book over a cup of hot tea, gardening, do a little music and watch series and series of K-dramas.

Mhao Kikon

​Mhao is a  Graduate in Literature, from St. Joseph’s College Jakhama, Nagaland University, and is a person with dynamic skills and talents. At present he is interning with YouthNet’s, Nagaland Job Center (NJC) Dimapur, as Manager to Retails and Customer Interactions Interns.  His NEIMUN journey started at the NEIMUN 2016 Conference where he received the ‘Diplomacy Award’. He believes in dealing with life with a very positive attitude and comments about applying that in his everyday life, coming from a Humble Background. Since a young age, he has taken up various numerous leadership positions which honed his leadership skills and comments that through active participations in various activities shaped his personality. He aspires to become an Administrative Officer in the near future; he is also a Photography enthusiast and loves Fine Art.
NEIMUN is, “A humongous ship on a voyage, carrying Rafts of young leaders; spirited with the zeal to make the world a better place. NEIMUN executes what it does best; dropping these dynamic Rafts of Young minds at every strategic point.”
